It's really funny to me how everyone I come across for the first time is always so fascinated with me when I tell them that I'm from L.A. (and still live here)!! It's not enough that i still live here, people become very surprised that I have never left either. But why should? The people who come here from other places shouldn't be the only ones who get to relish in the great weather and fun california lifestyle! Usually, they can notice that I'm a well grounded person, without fail they still always ask ''what was it like growing up in LOS ANGELES?!?'' ... people are also shocked when after a while they notice I'm ''normal'' ... normally i'm not rude, I'm polite, helpful, I listen to problems and I'm not into drugs. I don't think it matters where you are from to have these attributes! I come from an awesome family with two great parents!
When i think back to my childhood - growing up right here in West Los Angeles... my childhood was NORMAL! I watched sesame street & mr. rogers! i played with barbies! i ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and corn chips out by our pool in the summer. My friends and I used to count how many limos we'd see in 1 day, finding it to be totally entertaining! I rode bikes in the neighborhood, helped my parents wash their cars... swam at the park's pool to jump off the high dive..
I feel extremely fortunate that although my dad was/is in the entertainment industry, i really never saw that 'scene' until i was pretty much 25 years old! I was very sheltered from the major partying scene and only after meeting my friends who came here after college from the east coast did i ever encounter a 'hollywood hills party'. hahaha
I'm not done on this subject.. but i am for the moment. I haven't written in a LONG time and need to inch my way through it :) I thank you for reading, and hope you will return in the very near future.. my hope is to become more interesting as i get more into it again. thank you :)
